Frequently asked questions
- Do I need to study or teach at UNC-Chapel Hill to use Winston House?
No. Winston House’s primary users will be members of the University of
North Carolina’s Chapel Hill community, but we welcome use of the
facilities by other institutions from across the system and by partner
institutions. We encourage those who are interested in using Winston
House to contact us for further discussion.
- Does Winston House provide student residence space?
No. Winston House is a place for faculty, students, alums, and London
leaders to gather to exchange ideas, study, and pursue specific
programs. It does not provide living quarters for students. Housing for
those who use Winston House can be provided by Acorn.
- How soon can I send my program to Winston House?
Facilities will be available for general use in Summer 2007. There is
no specific application deadline for use of the facility; we will be
happy to discuss your needs with you whenever you'd like. We encourage
you to begin planning well in advance so that you will be able to take
advantage of Winston House's facilities during the time you wish.
- Am I on my own in Winston House when I arrive?
No. Several users may use the building simultaneously. An on-site
concierge will facilitate your use of the building. Our concierge can
also help you book theater tickets, arrange for cultural events, as
well as group excursions and tours.
